I describe the series in the first article as "three articles that will examine privacy concerns regarding hardware, then software, and then finally the Internet in general."
The first article, "Securing Privacy, Part One: Hardware Issues", looks at "hardware solutions for small networks and wireless devices, hardware-based spyware, and some attempts by hardware vendors to infringe upon users' privacy." You can read it at http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1568
The second article, "Securing Privacy, Part Two: Software Issues", looks at personal firewalls, personal proxy software, spyware, and various means of updating your operating system software. It's available at http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1573
I'm pretty excited about these articles because they've given me the opportunity to encapsulate and present to others my learning and research in the area of privacy. Privacy is a central concern of mine, and these articles are my attempt to help others safeguard their privacy on the Internet as well.
I hope you enjoy them, and if you have any comments or thoughts, please don't hesitate to send them my way. And if you'd like to read other things I've written, check out my Web site at http://www.granneman.com ... you'll find quite a variety there, so I'm sure you'll run across something useful.
Thanks!
