Hi Brian, Thanks. That worked. BTW, do you know how to get the gnome sound events working? For instance the sound event for expanding and collapsing the panel. I tried adding "exec esd" to my ~/.xinitrc file but that didn't work. Also, I tried running "sound-properties" from an xterm and that aborted due to an "initialization error".
