SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] Training Provider Information
|
I spoke to Robert Diskin (212.845.5325), who explained the voucher system by which the state reimburses training providers. He offered to fax me the application to become a training provider, but, as I have no fax machine at home, I told him I would get back to him when I can receive a fax.
Here's the preliminary information he gave me: Performance Based Vouchers allow for a training provider to be reimbursed for the cost of a training course. I do not know any specifics of what students qualify a provider for reimbursement, or if there are any qualifications. The reimbursement occurs as follows: 25% (of training cost) paid upon enrollment 25% paid upon completion 50% paid upon the student gaining employment
Anybody that has a fax machine and is willing to receive the application, please let me know. Once we have this, we should be able to determine if we can qualify and what the next steps are in getting State Training Provider status for the Free Software Institute.
