I would be able and willing to do some work on this and can even donate a PC
to the cause. (It is a Compaq Presario Desktop that I have had trouble
finding a network card for because of its strange ISA slot--only uses the
first section of the card and the second section of the card has to hang
outside of the slot and interferes with a little battery on the motherboard.
Apparently people have found they could cut an ISA board in such a way that
the back end didn't interfere with the motherboard while the front end would
remain in the slot. Apparently there is also a way to get network
connectivity over the serial port or some such thing.)
Anywhoooo, I can donate this compaq computer to any cause great or small
because it is just gathering dust in my closet at the moment.
Now back to the Boro Hall... I can do work on most Wednesdays and Thursdays
as well as weekends.
I think it would be a great thing to do.

I saw the same TV news cast about an hour ago. I was thinking the same
thing. In fact, I am currently discussing this with my wife. I would love to
volunteer to do a complete wiring, installation, setup, etc. of Brooklyn
Boro Hall if I can put it on my resume. I'm sure supplies could be got from
the public. And, of course, all software would be LINUX. Please let me be
part of selling this to Marty Markowitz and his Communications Director
