Following are the specs for the boxes recommended for the
NYLXS classes:
In short you have an AMD Duron 800MHZ machine with a 20.4GB
Maxtor harddrive and 128MB of PC133 ram, a CD-Rom and Floppy
drive. All this with an ASUS motherboard which has ATA-100
IDEbus, a 10/100 pci ethernet card, 4MB AGP video and a 300W
tower
for ~$432.73
**This box is linux proven and can take a beating.**
Everyone thinks they are the hardware expert because they
have read the pcconnection catalog, or dell or what ever.
If you don't plan on using this as a main box it would make
a killer server. At the end of the program you will know
how to fearlessly upgrade any part of this system if you so
wish. For now you're gonna have to trust the experts.
