Ok, I have to apologize, that wasn't totally clear. NYLXS was created to fill a gap...NYLUG has its place as an informal gathering of linux users, and serves that need well. NYLXS meets the demand for political action in safegaurding a linux future and getting linux "out there" alongside the knowledge (/ | of) rights important to using it. I definitely didn't mean to imply that NYLXS was started as a "fine I'll start my own LUG" group, but re-reading what I wrote it could easily be construed as such. It was meant to be a reminder to many persons on this list, in case they forgot what many voiced quite loudly not so long ago...the "controversy is bad" attitude just doesn't work...and this is NOT directed at you, Ruben, but more at the persons reading this that would block out the sun if it burns them.
Those almost-mentioned events, to the non-NYLUG'rs and new list members, are wholly irrelevant to the current discussion. Please disregard.

Since you said it's unfair to vote on this issue without real membership, I completely agree. After the membership...well, we'll hope everyone makes the right decision with their vote. And I *really* hope they do. Anarchy is fair, but can be very unproductive...but yay or nay without scale and objectivity is a self-destruct button [1]. Here's to intelligent debate without personal attacks and useless flame-wars...those things that serve only to blind the voter.
