It's interesting that you bring this up. I actually just recently saw a CMYK pluggin for the GIMP, but I think it split the image into 4 seperate mask layers like old time 4 color printing film. We need to have like an Artists committee to take an inventory of what is available, and to start to work with the tools, to do real work, and promote the fact. And they need to liason with the various graphic software developers for needed features and tools for a fre software only enviorment. This might be part of a larger desktop initiative.

Thereare more Mac users in the Free software movement then one might thing. Mike Schwern is a big Mac guy. I'm for it. How would propose a committee out of this and what activities would be undertaken?

It's the feedback of the artists which will produce the desired programing results.
