People learn to dial their phone and read, they will learn the command
line when it's essential for them to do their jobs. And it is NOT
cryptic. It's easy and straight forward.

It also takes some time to learn a graphic user interface.

Anyone who can pass a driving test can do learn the basics in a half hour.

A graphic user interface doesn't make this process faster. If anything,
it's slower. But if your going to do the bulk of your communication and
business with a computer, learning the basics is essential.

And there are good ones available. There are GReAT ones available. Take
your pick. I personally use gnome over wmaker with Natulus.
Nautulus is great.
