Well, given that you have to explicitly say "-og" to preserve owner and
group, what happens if you *don't* set them? Won't it *not* use the local
settings and use the remote settings instead?
Other than that, I can only see ways to force the permissions to be the
same as the local box, not any way to use rsync to set different
permissions, which makes sense - isn't meant to synchronize between
machines? (In which case, you'd want the same owner, group, etc.) Just a
thought.
