SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] clean up the projects...
|
Hello Pat, It appears that there might be a little bit of to much redunacy currently in the projects being hosted by sourceforge currently and out on the net. While I do understand that there is a desire to have more projects doing more, I believe that currently sourceforge's biaseness toward creating new projects may be harmful of the community.
Please read my comments on: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=432483&group_id=1&atid=350001
Btw, I just received note that you have been assigned the above issue.
I realize that the project to clean up projects is a masive job and would like to join in it.
Personally, I think that there probably should be about two or three projects to do various things but not more than 3. The issue is that with enough hands all problems are small but if there are many different groups doing the same things. They will not be enough time spent on the project to make it great. Opensource projects need to be great currently.
